Getting To Sayulita:
Sayulita is about 35KM north of the Puerto Vallarta airport and approximately 2KM off the main highway. Fly into Puerto Vallarta airport and then take a taxi or bus north to Sayulita or rent a car.
Taxi: The taxi drivers will know how to get to Sayulita from the airport. Be sure set a price before leaving the airport, it should between $50-60 each way for either a taxi or taxi van.
Bus: As you exit the baggage claim area, directly in front of you is a set of doors to the outside. Go out those doors and look to your left to find the pedestrian ramp that crosses up and over the highway. Take this over the highway, when you reach the other side, look for the bus stop. The bus to Sayulita stops here about every 30 minutes. The bus is white and green and will have Sayulita painted on the windshield. The cost is $25 pesos per person ($2.50) each way. You will need pesos and it is easiest if you have correct change
Car Rental: All major car rental companies are available at the airport. However, Sayulita is a very small pueblo with limited parking for cars. Casa Las Conchas is a very easy 5 minute walk from the center of town and the beach. Unless you plan to take an extensive side trip out of Sayulita, it is our recommendation that you skip the car rental, thus saving tiny Sayulita from the overburden of vehicles. Yes, there are a few fun day trips out of Sayulita and they are all easily accessible by taxi or bus.
Directions to Casa Las Conchas:
As you are leaving the airport, you will head north on the main highway. You will pass through the town of Bucerias, and then past several small villages as you head through the mountains. Keep going until you see the left hand turn lane and sign for Sayulita. Once you are off the main highway, turn right following the sign to Sayulita You will come to a baseball field on the right and a bridge on the left. If you are traveling by bus, this is where the bus stops. Cross the bridge and continue to the town plaza (about 3 blocks). Continue past the town square for one more block. Take the first right, you will dip down a bit, stay to the left as the road then goes up a short hill. At the top of the hill, you will see a large rock on the right (this is a familiar landmark for locals and taxi drivers), continue past the rock for one more block. On your left, you will see a tiny little grocery store on the corner. The street just past the store is Calle Primavera (the street name is painted on the wall of the house across from the store. Turn left, up Calle Primavera, go around a steep, sharp right hand bend in the street, you are now on Calle Naranjito.. Casa Las Conchas is the first house on the right. The house address is #4 Calle Naranjito. You have arrived! "People of the world...relax...." (Tom Robbins, Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates).
Depending on your rental reservation, you will either enter Casita #1 through the front door at street level or if you are staying in Casita #2, you will need to go down the stairs to the lower level and garden area.

In case of real emergency, we can be reached via e-mail at [email protected] or via phone at: (541) 385-5286
We ask that you be responsible for keeping the house tidy during your stay. Laura will clean floors, clean kitchen and remove garbage and make sure you have bottled water available.
What to bring:
Beach towels: We provide you with bath towels, but you will want to bring towels for the beach or purchase a blanket or sarong from one of the local vendors to use on the beach.
A flashlight: While not necessary, a small flashlight or headlamp comes in handy after dark as the streetlamps are inconsistent. If you come during the months of November through February, bring a light jacket or sweater. Although the days are perfect; sunny and warm, the evenings can be slightly cool.
Groceries: There are lots of small grocery stores in Sayulita and they all have different things. If you don't find what you are looking for in one store, cross the street to another and they most likely will have what you are looking for. Shopping in the local markets is a great experience; a chance to practice your spanish and support the local economy. In addition to the local stores where you can find all the basics; pasta, butter, milk, eggs, vegetables and fruits, be sure to go watch and listen for the stores on wheels. For example, it is quite normal to see a mobile fruits/vegetable vendor or a shrimp vendor. They are easy to spot as they are rolling slowly through town, usually with a loudspeaker blaring their wares for sale. Just give a friendly wave and a smile and they will gladly stop to show you their goods. Fresh fish can also be purchased at some of the markets or early in the morning directly from the fisherman at the south end of the main beach in town
Water: Bottled purified water will be provided in the house and replenished as you need it. You should use the bottled water for all cooking, drinking and brushing your teeth. Tap water is fine for showering, and washing your hands. You can also buy smaller bottles in the local stores to take to the beach. All the restaurants in town use purified water in their food preparation and ice. If you plan to cook in the house, we recommend that you purchase a small bottle of water purifier in one of the stores. It is called "microdyne". Soak all your fruits and vegetables in a large bowl of water with a few drops of this solution for about 15 minutes to remove the bacterias our system is not accustomed to.
Telephone: Sayulita has several public telephones located mostly around the central plaza. You can purchase a phone card in the states before coming (just be sure you get the access code information before you arrive) or you can buy one them in the grocery stores in Sayulita.
Internet Access: We provide internet access at the house for all of our guests. Once you reservation is confirmed we will provide you with the appropriate access codes and passwords.
Medical: There is a pharmacy located just before the bridge. There is a doctor and a clinic in the same area.
Laundry: There are several laundromat services in town (lavandaria) where you can drop off your laundry in the morning and pick it up clean and folded in the afternoon for just a few dollars. Please do not ask our housekeeper to do personal laundry for you as that is not part of our services.
Money: There is now several ATM machines in Sayulita, however the fees may be higher than in Puerto Vallarta. You can exchange travellers checks in Sayulita but it is better to exchange your US currency for pesos at the airport before you arrive in Sayulita if you want to be sure to avoid a trip to Puerto Vallarta for more cash from an ATM machine or bank.
Parking: You can park your car in front of the house. Please avoid blocking the street.
Swimming: The beach is just a short walk from the house. The southern end of the beach is best for children and inexperienced swimmers. If you like to surf, the break right in front of town is the place to go.
